HATHA YOGA
We teach the authentic, classical Hatha yoga as the yogi’s of yore practiced it. This class structure is rooted in the Sivananda lineage.
Hatha Yoga utilizes both steady postures (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) to bring the body-mind vehicle into perfect balance and radiant health. This self-cultivation system emphasizes deep breathing, mental focus & relaxation while assuming a series of steady poses. The practice increases flexibility, circulation, while toning & restoring balance to the entire system. It is effective at removing stress & innumerable other disorders associated with mind-body misalignment. The practice also adapts and tailors itself to an individual specific mind-body needs.
The beginner level classes are progressive in nature so it is imperative to attend all classes. The following class designations will help one to find their appropriate level based on experience and training. Class size is limited ensuring personal instruction & comfortable practice.
Level I - Initiate: Teaches Fundamentals and Basics of Hatha Yoga. For those with little or no Hatha Yoga experience.
Level 2 - Practitioner: Building on a solid foundation, this class moves into more advanced Yogic techniques & variations. Requisite of one session of experience.
